sign to ban deforestation

Why? Because if we do, it could become EU law to ban products linked to deforestation.

CHILLING FACT

15 billion trees are chopped down every year to make space for cattle, palm oil, and many things we buy everyday. That’s 476 every single second.

This is not just any petition.

This is a big one. You’ll be signing an official EU consultation. The EU is such a large market that if it became law, it could force the world’s biggest companies to change, transforming the global supply chain and helping to save our woodlands, wetlands and mangroves and all the animals, peoples and life within them. Even though we’ve not got much longer in the EU, our voice still counts and the impact could be global.

Every one of us who signs builds the resolve of lawmakers to pass the most ambitious forest-protecting law possible. Let's be deafening.

*We have lifted most of this text straight from the petition as we couldn’t say it any better. Avaaz the globe's largest and most powerful online activist network, is only five years old, but has exploded to 65 million people and counting, all standing up for positive change.

Ok, where do I sign?

Sign here, Planeteer.
Let’s make sure it passes!

We…

Aimee: We all say the governments need to play their part to set the rules for a green recovery. Banning products linked to deforestation would have wide-ranging consequences across the globe and we have a chance to help make it happen. I’m in. 100%.

Sonia: There’s such a force gathering around the world, it’s so heartening. Wouldn’t it be just amazing if together we could turn it all around? Signed and hoping.

We are what we stand (up) for
